This European specification Dino was originally delivered in Germany and remained in Europe until the early 1990s when it was purchased by noted collector, Ed Weaver. When he purchased the car, it was Rosso Rubino (presumably the original color) and he ordered that it be stripped to bare metal and painted white. During this time, all mechanical systems were freshened and it is reported that a hot cam was installed.
A few years later, Mr. Weaver died and most of his nearly 300 car collection was auctioned by Kruse and this Dino was sold to a Mr. Gillespie (Mt. Airy, NC). During his nearly fifteen-year ownership, the car was serviced regularly, but used sparingly. Mr. Gillespie reports mostly road use and a few Ferrari club track days. Today, the car is in very good mechanical order and runs and drives quite well. The white paint, which is more than seventeen years old, is showing some age, but is still presentable. Most of the interior is original and looks quite well for being so. The car features the optional power windows and is fitted with correct Campagnolo alloy wheels with nearly new Michelin XWX Tires. Recent work performed includes a complete carburetor service, valve adjustment, cooling system service and all cooling system hoses replaced, flexible brake hose replacement and brake system flush. Serviced and sorted, all around an excellent example of one of the most sought-after and revered Ferrari models.
